Plehn's Bakery

I was a little concerned about the quality of service we would receive from Plehn's since we were not encouraged to try the cakes before we ordered. During our consultation we were sat down with a huge photo album and basically asked to pick out a cake. When I explained we wanted something more custom and showed her a picture, they assured me they could make what I wanted. Again, I was hesitant because it seemed like such a small operation.The cake turned out absolutely gorgeous. And the taste was out of this world. I am so happy with our selection...and it was very inexpensive. The only issue we had was that our wedding was on a Sunday night and they had to deliver by 11 am Sunday morning. Our wedding representative at our venue took care of that issue for us, though, so we had no problems. Can't wait to eat our top layer next year!!

Excellent cake! It was beautiful and tasted wonderful! I took them a picture of what I wanted and they created the exact image! I loved working with them!

Plehn's Bakery is an establishment in Louisville! Our family has been using them for holiday cakes and treats ever since I can remember. One taste of their spice cake with caramel icing, and you will be a loyal Plehn's customer for life! It was natural that I would use them for our wedding cake. While they are on the high end of cake prices in Louisville, I think sometimes you get what you pay for. I had peace of mind knowing that my transaction with Plehn's would be smooth, and that our cake would taste amazing. We had a Derby themed wedding, and Donna from Plehn's even designed a custom cake topper that matched the monogrammed silks we used on our favors. She was very responsive to all my concerns, and relieved any stresses I may have had about my outdoor wedding and the nature of the cake. She was quick to recommend other caterers they have worked well with over the years and provide other helpful tips. Our cake was beautiful, and tasted even better than it looked!

About 2 weeks before our wedding, the woman who was going to make our cake backed out. I asked my husband to attempt to find a substitute, and his father suggested Plehn's. Plehn's worked within our budget to find a cake that would suit us, and suggested cost-cutting options where they were available. The cake was beautiful and tasted absolutely fantastic. We froze the extras and have been eating them since the wedding, and this cake tastes good even after being frozen. I can't say enough nice things about Plehn's for stepping in at the last minute and doing such a fantastic job for such low prices.

Their selections are rather simple as the bakery is family owned and been around for years. They cake turned out beautiful and arrived in more than enough time for the wedding. The baker offered me suggestions on how to save money considering the size of my wedding. She offered great ideas and the product was great
