Lainey's Catering

We really struggled with our catering budget and, after looking into pricing for all of the area catering companies, we were sure that there was no way we could afford to provide our guests with a nice meal and that we would have to compromise on this part of the wedding. We were so upset about the options (or lack of options, really) that we put off our decision until 3 months before the wedding and were then afraid that we would be unable to book anyone at all! Then we received a referral from a family friend for Lainey's Catering, who was doing her daughter's wedding just two weeks after ours. Luckily, Lainey had our date available and we set up a meeting immediately. From start to finish, Lainey was wonderful. She worked with us on our budget, suggested a delicious menu and listened to our feedback, and was especially accommodating with our desire to personalize many aspects of the wedding. Examples of this are endless! She learned my mother's corn pudding bread recipe for the wedding so that we would truly have homestyle food for the wedidng. She helped my "lemonade stand" idea become a reality by setting up an adorable refreshments table so that guests could stay cool in the August weather before the ceremony. She created a "pie bar" for us instead of wedding cake (this was so much more affordable than wedding cake, and our guests LOVED it!) She had her staff pass out bottles of Ale-8, my husband's favorite Kentucky-made soda, for our toasts instead of champagne (another guest favorite!) She had her son wash all of the vintage china plates that my husband and I had collected from thrift stores so that we could donate them to a refugee resettlement agency after the wedding. Lainey went above and beyond and even stepped in as a much-needed wedding coordinator, not only of the reception but also of the ceremony- she came to our rehearsal the night before and eased our minds so much! She was such a joy to work with, brought a delightful and hardworking staff to the wedding, and was a constant source of ideas and cost-cutting tips. We highly recommend her- we served our guests a feast of wonderful food for an affordable price, and several guests said that it was the best wedding fare they had ever had!
