This place was amazing .. our coordinator Katie was GREAT!! Answered all my emails promptly and were so effcient the day of the wedding. I worried the food would be your standard hotel food, but that was not the case! Everyone raved how good the food was, and the service was top notch, they even packaged a to go box so we could actually enjoy the food later! Not to mention this place is the best value on the beach with no lack of service or quality!! I really cannot say how great this venue was .. Thank you Grand Plaza for an amazing wedding!! and a BIG THANK YOU to Katie, you all were so accomodating and it was GREAT!!

AMAZING!! Katie was my coordinator and was sooo great .. The hotel was very accomodating and flexible to our needs and selection of food ... Everyone raved about how good the food was, which I was scared about because it is a hotel, and although I did not get to eat that night .. they boxed up two to go boxes for my husband and I!! The Space and beach was amazing .. I cannot say enough great things about our experience here... it all turned out more than perfect!! Thank you Katie and the Grand Plaza!!

I could not be happier than I am with the Grand Plaza Hotel. My husband and I stumbled into the Grand Plaza in October when looking for a beach venue for our March wedding (It really was love at first sight-nothing can compare to the presidential ballroom). We met Jen, who would immediately become our coordinator. Everything after that was a breeze, I know I am just getting started but Grand Plaza really does make it that easy. Jen answered all of our questions and handled any issue we had. She was there with her team the day of and personally made sure nothing was overlooked. Jen thank you so much for everything! There really was nothing to worry about, I was confident that my wedding day was going to be perfect and it was. Even though another vender provided the wrong cake, but the Grand Plaza took care of that as well. I cannot rave enough about the Grand Plaza's wedding team, they are true professionals.

Cherish at the Grand Plaza was spectacular. The venue was beautiful, the food was great, all the special touches were taken care of, and everyone was very attentive to my wants and needs. E-mails were responded to at lightning fast speed and staff was always helpful. I looked around a bit and the prices were also far better than surrounding venues and provided, in my opinion, more and better. My guests were in awe of the venue, the food, and the whole experience which made me feel great on our special day.

Grand Plaza made our day as memorable as possible. Everyone is so kind, and prepared. It made my day so EASY! Cherish is an amazing wedding coordinator. She went above and beyond through-out the whole process. Doing WAY more than what her job title. I HIGHLY recommend this venue! From the Beach setting ( isle of palm trees for the bride to walk down.. cant get much more beach themed than that!!! ) to the receiption rooms, to the staff.. everything is simply AMAZING!

I loved my venue. We looked at 2 other venues in the area and was sold on this one on account of the wedding coordinator. Unfortunately a few months prior to our wedding date, she left. We were left with another wedding coordinator, who was capable, but we really wanted to stay with the one who sold us on this venue. The week prior to the big day, we had a few financial surprises and questions, so definitely sign the contract ahead of time and tie up any loose ends as soon as possible. Otherwise, the beach wedding we had was beautiful. The reception was great, and also there are a lot of great restaurants within the hotel. I really loved Spinners on the top floor, where the floor spins around the bar - too cool!

Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day, but it was not without some problems. Prior to our wedding day, we were paired with Kristi as our wedding coordinator. She ended up leaving the department and we were assigned a different coordinator, Katie, about 2 months prior to our wedding. Obviously I was troubled by this, but trusted that the Grand Plaza kept good records of all of our conversations and changes with Kristi. Not to my surprise, they did not, and there were many things which were misplaced or not documented correctly, such as the $2500 down-payment my parents made. It was later located, but not without some pressure on my side. My parents booked one of the penthouse suites for my girls and I to get ready on our wedding day and my husband and I on our wedding night. Our rehearsal was at 6pm on Friday night, the night before our wedding. Check-in time is 4pm, so we requested early check-in. Katie informed us this was out of her control, but directed my mother to speak to Shannon - someone who works in reception. At this time, 2 days prior to our wedding day, Shannon advised us that it should not be a problem and she would block one of the rooms for us since there were 3 that were empty already. When we arrived at 2pm on the night of our rehearsal, the ladies at the front desk seemed to know nothing about the arrangement. I informed them that my mother spoke with Shannon who stated it would be okay to check in early. Shannon then rounded the corner and addressed us with "Is there a problem?" I told her that we had made arrangements for early check-in to our penthouse suite so we can get ready for the rehearsal later that evening. She stated "I would have never said that." At this point, I was already stressed being that it was the day before my wedding and I was still waiting for many relatives to arrive from out of state. I asked her when the room would be ready and she said "30-45 minutes - we'll call you when it's ready." I received the call that my room was ready at 3pm - only an hour before the actual check in. My guests booked nearly 30 rooms in the hotel in addition to the amount we spent on our wedding so I thought an early check-in was a reasonable request. When we arrived at the room the floor was not swept and in fact had sand and dirt so we were forced to wear our sandals the entire time. The only qualm I had during our rehearsal was that Katie had a wedding going on at the same time and seemed a bit rushed. When one of our guests asked about seating she said "that shouldn't be a problem." This turned out to be false because on our wedding day, many of our guests sat on the wrong side (i.e. my guests on my husbands side, etc.) and one of the other wedding coordinators pointed it out and everyone had to get up and re-arrange, holding up my entrance for approx. 10 minutes. On the day of our wedding I called down to the front desk on 3 separate occasions to ask for chairs so the hairdressers could do our hair and make-up. It was not until the third call that the chairs were brought up. The housekeepers came around at 3pm to clean the room - my wedding was not until 6pm and we were using our room to get ready. One of my bridesmaids informed them of such and asked if they could come back around 530. The housekeeper said yes. During our reception my maid-of-honor and her boyfriend went up to our suite to "decorate" and noticed that housekeeping never came back to clean. They immediately called down to the front desk to ask if someone could come up to clean and they stated "housekeeping leaves at 6pm" when my MOH told them that nobody cleaned the room all they did was apologize. My MOH then asked if they had a broom she could borrow to sweep the still-sandy and dirty floor and they responded "no, we don't have the keys to the storage closet." My MOH told me that she cleaned up as best she could by making the bed and using a towel to sweep the floor. After our ceremony my husband and I took our photos on the beach and then made our way back up so we could be introduced as man and wife and the reception could begin. We stood down on the beach for approximately 5-10 minutes until I had him go up to the cocktail hour to try to locate Katie to usher everyone inside for the reception. When he could not locate her I entered my own cocktail hour, flagged down someone from the wait staff and instructed them to find Katie immediately. A minute later Katie appeared and started directing everyone to go inside. My final complaint was in regards to our cake. Half of my guests questioned me about where the cake was. My husband and I both did not have any of our cake and I noticed that cake was only being served to those guests who were seated at the table when in fact a piece should have been placed at each seating so when the guests took a break from dancing they could enjoy a piece. I don't know where the additional cake went, but only one out of ten people I spoke to stated that they had a piece of cake. Our waitress did package up the topper, but even when I questioned them about the rest of the cake they stated there was none. All of these problems were addressed to both Katie and the General Manager of the hotel with no proposed resolution, but I feel that the Grand Plaza has much to offer and with a little more concentration placed on quality as opposed to QUANTITY (we were told at one point that they average 2-4 weddings per day on Thurs-Sunday) these problems may have been avoided. Make no mistake, I had a beautiful wedding, but these problems turned what should have been a stress-free day for me into a worrisome day.

The Grand Plaza is such a beautiful venue. Weddings are their specialty so its know wonder that they had everything covered. We had our ceremony and reception both there with out a problem. Our planner Gloria was so helpful and even recommend our officiant and the steel drummer, who were both great. The entire staff was so helpful.

Grand Plaza Hotel makes your wedding day easy. The wedding coordinators are there for you from the day you book your wedding date all the way to the end of your reception. They set everything up and take everything down. They make sure your wedding guests are seated and know where to go. They are very organized and are very easy to work with. If you are having a beach wedding and don't want to have to do everything yourself, this is a perfect place for you. The hotel is very nice and all of our guests enjoyed themselves.

Hello! I had a great experience working with the Grand Plaza :-) I personally worked with Kristi Lee Vessenmeyer who was, at all times, friendly, kind, honest, flexible, and professional. She asked all necessary questions and kept in touch with me to make sure my event was a sucessful one. She was available when I needed her. All the services they provided were excellent. For other services not listed above as them providing them, they certainly have a great vendors' list that guide you on finding them. I am very pleased with my special's date experience. Totally recommend it:-)

The food was good but not amazing. Though I dont recall ever really leaving a wedding thinking about the food. the View alone made the venue absolutely ideal for a beach wedding. The Presidential Ball Room is the only way to go for the reception...especially if the sunset will occur during.
