Flowers with a difference—Green Lady sources locally grown, Fair Trade-certified, and
organic flowers. Locally grown flowers support our region’s farmers and benefit the
environment by dramatically reducing the carbon footprint of a given arrangement—they are
field grown rather than greenhouse raised and unlike most florist flowers, they are not flown
to Louisville from South America, Canada and Holland via NYC or Miami.
Green Lady owner and designer Stephanie Lindsay trained in modernist flower arranging
techniques at the Flower School NYC (www.flowerschoolny.com) and apprenticed with
renown master flower designer Michael George, the creator of the modernist flower arranging
style (www.michaelgeorgecustomfloral.com). Stephanie injects this technique with her
unique take on color, drama and whimsy. Her influences range from landscapes, both real and
imagined, to high fashion, film, art and even costume design.
